Elise's new bedroom

Well, my baby girl is growing up, so it was time to put her in her own room last night. Up until now she has been sleeping in our room in her Boat by Papa. The boys each slept in that when they were born as well. Never in our room, though, because our bedroom at our old house was too small for there to be a bed and a boat in there.

So yesterday after I set up the crib, I put Elise in it to try it out, and she cried and cried until I picked her up... put her in the boat and covered her in the cozy blanket from Auntie Louise. She immediately stopped crying and she was asleep in the boat in 3 minutes. No joke. So... she better not start rolling, because the day that happens is the day she stops sleeping in the boat.

I also used the Big Blossom to stamp in white acryllic paint on her walls. I'm not done with her walls yet, but this is a good start. Also, Steve put up 2 shelves in her room and I hung some flower pics, as well as a French memo board.

Her room looks so sweet! She is a cutie too by the way! Yes I've joined the blog bandwagon and it is fun to see how people are doing. I start work in February at the same school but it is bittersweet! C'est la vie! I am glad things are going so well for you and your family.

What a cute, cute room!!! (Nice "church rose" by the way!!?!) That flower stamp is on the way for me! Can hardly wait for it to arrive. The more I see how people have used it the more I love it!

Cute - I thought you were going to do pink flowers?

Yeah, I thought I was going to do pink as well, but then I thought they might be too overpowering with the pink in the artwork and accents already. But I am not quite done with the stamping on the walls yet... suggestions? Mom thinks I should pull the yellow from the artwork and put that colour of centre in the white stamped flowers... then it's not to bold. I've also thought about adding a smaller flower in a contrasting colour beside all the big white ones.

Leanne - good of you to spot the church rose! Do you still have Sam's?

very cute room. I think you should do the small flower idea.

Yellow center would be ok - there's lotsa yellow in the blanket and then maybe do the smaller flower too (in pink)... or are you just wanting one colour accent? I don't think the pink would be too overpowering. The white does look sharp with the trim though too so that was a good choice if you are trying to keep things on a neutral scale. My baby girl's room (in my heart) is all bright citrus colours with lime green walls and I could see using that stamp set too :) Have fun with the finishing touches!

Great choice of bedding Auntie Louise! With such a wide variety of colours to pull from, even the red rocking chair works well eh? Now get crib sheets in every color and some kinda valance... get Tricia's input there! I'm sure Elise will love it :)

Ok, I have to say, that is the cutest little baby bed EVER! And a very cute girl's room, too!
I think yellow in center of the flowers and some smaller flowers would look good, too. My 2 cents. :)

A couple of you wondered where the 4 flower prints came from... Superstore! They were in a 4 pack and there were black andwhite ones as well, and another colour too.
