Guess who!???

Do you know who this is?

My Kids

Just a cute pic I took of the kids on Sunday before church. The boys' outfits are from Grammie and Papa for Christmas (but they just got to open them this weekend). Thanks Auntie Louise for picking them out!!!

I Did It!!

Ok, I stayed up way too late... but here's my stamping table and some storage boxes that I just got from Michael's. Also, out my stamping room window you can see a ton of construction across the street... the boys love to stand there and watch the "mighty machines" working away.

under the table you can see my new tote from Costco... great deal - only $26, and now I can carry 12 X 12 projects around

In Memory of the Doughboy

Sad News...

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, The California Raisins, Betty Crocker, The Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

If this made you smile for even a brief second, please rise to the occasion and take time to pass it on and share that smile with some-one else who may be having a crumby day and kneads it.

(author unknown... wish it was me! I received this in an email from my friend Jen)

Not a lot of Stamping

In the last few days I haven't been doing a whole lot of stamping... but I have been reorganizing my stamping room, getting people signed up for a new Stamper's Club (a scrapbooking one!), and getting ideas for projects from magazines and online. All part of the creative process!!

Here are a few pics of the corners of my stamping room... you might notice that I didn't show the table... that is because I can't see it right now. Perhaps when my cleaning is complete I will show the entire room... but by then I will most likely have a new project on the table and not be able to see it again.

I have started collecting SU! Craft pads, so with my Great Rewards points, I ordered a second ink storage caddy (the first one was with my rewards points last year!)

this was a project I did awhile ago with the SU! Statement of the Heart... it says: To LOVE what we do, and SHARE what we love, as we help others ENJOY CREATIVITY and worthwhile ACCOMPLISHMENTS... in this we make a DIFFERENCE!

I have 2 of these tubs with hanging files to keep my paper sorted by colour and colours families

my cd station... gotta have music!

Hey, if you have some organizational tips that work for you in your craft room... please share them in a comment. I have never been organizationally gifted, and I'm sure my mother is surprised that there are even this many angles of the room that look neat!!!!

What we've been waiting for!!!!!

Today is B-E-A-UTIFUL! So warm and sunny... you would never know that not too long ago we were covered in snow. (except by the piles of dirty snow in our front yard, and the remnants of a snowman on the neighbour's lawn!). Today is almost an airconditioning day... I am even in a tank top and sandals! Yes! I love it!

The boys played outside today and even ate their lunch on the back deck (until the bees chased them inside... but they were out there for quite awhile) Here's the proof!

Sleeping Beauty

Here's a pic I took of Elise today while she slept in her playpen. When I look at her I just see Scotty all over again! I'll have to put up some comparison pictures. Some days we get glimpses of Todd, too... like the shape of her head! I put the picture in black and white so you won't be swayed by the pink blanket she is in. Who do you see??

Not my Cat!

This was just too cute not to share! If you go to the craftzine link on my sidebar you can see the article of this little guy. But this just cracked me up. So, all you knitters out there... this could be your next project!

Elise's new bedroom

Well, my baby girl is growing up, so it was time to put her in her own room last night. Up until now she has been sleeping in our room in her Boat by Papa. The boys each slept in that when they were born as well. Never in our room, though, because our bedroom at our old house was too small for there to be a bed and a boat in there.

So yesterday after I set up the crib, I put Elise in it to try it out, and she cried and cried until I picked her up... put her in the boat and covered her in the cozy blanket from Auntie Louise. She immediately stopped crying and she was asleep in the boat in 3 minutes. No joke. So... she better not start rolling, because the day that happens is the day she stops sleeping in the boat.

I also used the Big Blossom to stamp in white acryllic paint on her walls. I'm not done with her walls yet, but this is a good start. Also, Steve put up 2 shelves in her room and I hung some flower pics, as well as a French memo board.

Stamping on Walls....

Have you ever started a craft project with your children only to wonder why you dared? I did that today.... I got Scott and Todd to put their hand prints on the wall in their favourite colours. When we moved into this house we asked the boys what colour they wanted their room. Todd said blue, Scott said orange. I actually didn't intend on painting the walls, but I was thinking more of curtains, bedspread, accessories, etc. Then a friend said, "why not get them to put their hands in paint and leave their prints on the wall?" Great idea! Question... "Rhonda, have you actually tried that with a 2 yr old and a 3 yr old?" Anyway, as you can see from the pics, the boys had a hoot... and I have a headache! Kidding. They were so fun to watch, and they got 2 baths out of the deal because in the first one the water went a mucky orange colour. So I said that we were going to get new water, and Todd asked, "can it be BLUE this time?" Nooooooooo!!!!!! Enjoy the pics. I won't be doing their feet :)

Sweet Baby Girl!

This morning I asked Elise if her cheeks ever hurt from smiling so much! She just smiled some more....

And then, when I brought out the sweet potatoes for the first time today at lunch, I could barely see her eyes she was smiling so big! Just thought I would share some pics of her enjoying her food! Mmmmm... wash it all down with a bottle and it makes for a perfect day in a 6 month old's world!

Tractor Tipping

Have you seen the movie CARS? My boys love it... LOVE IT! We saw it for the first time in September at Hillcrest Drive-In Theatre. The best way to see a movie like that. I was so glad that we didn't take them to an indoor movie theatre for it because Todd was so loud that I am sure the next cars could hear us even at the outdoor theatre. "GO LIGHTNING MCQUEEN!" Then... "MOMMY, WHERE'S MATER??!!!!!" So loud.

It was a CARS Christmas at our house for sure. Towels, matchbox cars, pullback cars, and the movie.

Now, with all the stuff from cars, they boys have started to act out the movie. When they play outside Scott is Mater, Todd is Lightning McQueen and Steve is Doc Hudsen. And when they play inside, they do this.........

TRACTOR TIPPING!!!!

Second Winter

We are having yet another big snowfall on the west coast. It is piling up in our backyard, and totally crippling traffic on the Fraser Highway outside our house. I'm so glad I don't have to go anywhere today. Traffic has not moved in at least 4 minutes on the road, and I hear horns going crazy... at least 2 ambulances have screamed past in the last little while.

But it is beautiful, and if I look out the back window it is so peaceful. I even found these 2 lovebirds taking a break from the falling snow in our neighbour's tree. The boys are excited that after naptime daddy is going to take them out to play in it! Lucky daddy! We have a sled and toboggan that the boys got from some friends last year after the snow was finished and so they are excited to used them today. I will post those pics another day.

Stay safe, and if you can... stay home!

Baby Wipe Card

My niece is turning one year old today... this is her birthday card. I used the set "Wild About You" with the baby wipe technique. I love this little elephant!

Broken Dishes

Tonight after dinner, Steve asked me, "So when do we get the kids to start taking the dishes to the counter after meals?" I am terrible at this myself, so I don't remember to ask the kids to do it... I said, "Now is a great time... boys, please take your dishes to the counter." Scott piled his bowl on his plate and balanced his cup inside and carefully took the dishes all successfully to the counter. Todd tried... dropped the whole lot and broke his bowl in 2. Plastic bowl at that.

Steve said we maybe started a day too soon!

Scott and Todd at our new neighbourhood park.
