Scrapbooking Fun
I had my first "Scrapbooking Fun" class last week, and these are the pages we made. There is still room in these classes, so if you are a scrapbooker, looking for a night out once a month... why not come on out and scrap with us?! The cost is only $10, and you will go home with a double 12X12 layout! The dates for the next 3 Scrapbooking Fun classes are: Monday, Oct. 19, Monday, Nov. 9 and Thursday, Dec. 10. Contact me if you would like more info.
The subtitle was created by punching out the letters, and every second letter was raised with a dimensional.
I really love my Big Shot machine and these butterflies were created with my Beautiful Butterflies die. I use this die quite a bit!
Here's the final product. Hard to see in the pic, but we used the Jumbo Outline ABC, and then with blender pens and watercolour pencils, coloured in the letters to match the layout. The full title of mine is "Ordinary Moments that make life Extraordinary."

Fun With MDS
MDS is my latest toy from Stampin' Up! and it stands for My Digital Studio. This software is available for purchase starting October 1st, but Demonstrators got to start playing with it a month early... here is a greeting card I made with it last week. This one is still pretty basic, but I created it in about 5 minutes, so it is very user friendly software, and it is a lot of fun!!!

PNE - A little posting catch-up!
PNE Hightlights - 2009
Sept. 3/09... Steve and I dropped the kids off at his parents' place in the afternoon, and headed into Vancouver to the PNE. Lots of people have asked us since then, "You went to the PNE without your kids?!!!" Oh, yes we did!
The main reason we wanted to go on that particular day was that Abbamania was playing, and I am quite a bit of an Abba fan. Lately, I've been growing my hair out, and just yesterday I looked in the mirror and thought Mama Mia, you look like a hippy! A haircut will come soon, but until then, maybe Abbamania could think of me if they needed a fill in girl on some of their shows!!! I would so love to share the stage with them!
♫ If you change your mind... I'm the first in line!... Take a chance on me :)
Here are a few of the pics I took that day... thanks for looking. And, ♫ Thank you for the music, for giving it to me!
They started and ended with Dancing Queen... probably my fave ABBA song!
Since 3 days later would be Steve's b-day we called that his birthday festivities... Here I am with my Honey Honey!
Here's a new show they put on this year, called "On the Edge." There is a square platform for the trucks to drive on, and they just push and bump and hit each other until one of them falls off. I would love to try that sometime!!! (seriously, I think that would be a riot!)
We saw the logger sports at the Agrifair a few weeks ago, but at the PNE we were able to get right up close... I got a few good pics of the guys in action.
Prize Home.... The Winner Takes It All!!! Not that we ever get prize home tickets, but we sure love walking through it and looking at the beautiful home that someone gets to win.
I found these signs very amusing... and it sure didn't stop the pushy people close to the PNE that want you to park in their yard. "Five dollars!" Actually, one lady said, "You're staying all day? 20 bucks!" Um, lady, that's not a deal!! The guarded parking lots were only $20 for the whole day... I think we'll take our chances there instead of your yard!!!
2 Brothers... BIG guys!
Knowing Me Knowing You... not at the PNE.. there were thousands upon thousands of people and we only ran into one family that we knew, and that was it. But it was Money Money Money that the PNE was raking in that day... every second person had some kind of food in their hands, and we even jumped on board with the spending and got some mini donuts and yummy lemonade!
And the countdown to the 100th anniversary of the PNE is on! Next year is the centennial for The Pacific National Exibition... I wonder which stars they will pull out to entertain next year - Nickleback? Bryan Adams...? Some other great Canadian Band? Great Big Sea would be pretty cool to see there.... Can't wait to find out! But since the Beetles and Elvis have both been there - in their primes, too... they are going to have to do something BIG!!!

Lunch... a little late!
I know I am a bit late with this post, but I'm still going to blog it!
Last week, Sept. 4, a group of gals went out for lunch... aka: "The Ladies Who Lunch." This time, it was Tracycakes in Abbotsford that we chose for our dining pleasure. Yummmmm... I had the chicken wrap and it was wonderful. I had iced tea, which was probably not necessary, because the water was actually quite tasty there. Since we have the BEST water at home (not because of Abbotsford waterworks, but because of our Nikken water filter), I tend to be a bit picky with restaurant water, and that is why I often pick a drink that masks the city water taste! But, whether they use some kind of bottled water, or it's straight from the tap, it was a good water day at Tracycakes!
Enough about the water... let's talk about the food!
Chicken wrap... I would definitely have this again...
... oh yes, I have! (well on Sept. 4th, I did, anyway!!) This is a turtle cheesecake cupcake, and it is a good thing it wasn't any bigger because it was R-I-C-H! (and good!)
I was also fairly intrigued by all the pretty things in there (including all my pretty friends, who aren't pictured here!!)

Sweet Treats!
Last night was my Stampers Club and we had some fun with the Sweet Centers set and the Sweet Treats cups.
The actual club card we made will be posted next week after my other club has a chance to make it!!
Who says it just has to be "sweet treats!" You can put other kinds of treats in here... how about some brads in the Christmas card you're making for a crafty friend? Then after Christmas she can pop open the treat cup and use the brads!! Glitter and confetti work really well, too.

First Day of School!
We made it through the first day of school madness! Todd started Kindergarten and Scott is in grade one... they both had a great day. Elise was a bit sad that she got left behind this morning, but hey, her turn will come all too soon!
One of only 3 photos I got of Scott today... and none of them very willingly! I found out that when you're in grade 1, you are much too big and cool to pose for your mommy's photos!!!
Scott has to get another year out of his backpack, but Todd got a new one...
Todd loved exploring the playground!
Then, while we waited for Scott to be done school, Todd and I went on a "first-day-of-school-date." Todd chose apples and caramel as his snack. And I had a vanilla iced coffee.
He was totally tickled that he had the whole playplace to himself! At one point, from the top of the structure, he said, "oh, mom, someone put some words up here... but it wasn't me, I don't have a pen with me!" So, I was quite glad at that moment that he can't read just yet... I didn't climb up to investigate what the words were... but I can only imagine!
