Piano Recital

She might need a bit more practice, but at least the love of music is there, right?! Good start....

My brave little ones

Yesterday, I took Scott and Elise for immunizations. Scott did well, and just had to have one needle. Elise, had to have 4... so sad. She cried, but amazingly, within 2 minutes after the shots she was done crying and onto her bottle, then played while we waited for 15 minutes to pass before we could leave the clinic.

Today she is a happy little lamb and you'd never know she had shots yesterday.

With her little dots, she reminded me of a little Wemmick!!! (books by Max Lucado)

And for anyone that is interested... E is 34 lbs, and S is 50 lbs on the button. I'd have to look up their heights, but that was measured too.

Scrapbooking for fun!

I got to scrapbook this afternoon while the kids napped... they ALL cooperated and slept for 2 hours! They've had some late nights lately, so they were all super tired. It was so relaxing, and I put on the Princess Bride movie and moved the kitchen table to face the TV, and I scrapped away!

The pictures are of Elise in her Mally Bibs bib. She was a model for them last June and is in the current catalogue (shown below). The only thing that isn't done on this page is the focal picture on the first page is going to be a 5X7 (notice the matte is really big?). I have a 5X7 of that exact picture somewhere, and when I went to get it..... it wasn't with the rest of the pics... so it will be interesting to see where I put it... I know it's in a "safe spot" I just don't know where the spot is! But for now this smaller one of the same pose will do.

Glorious Day!

We just got home from a great Family Fun Day at the Zoo... I took a LOT of pictures! I even took FILM pictures... who does that anymore?! (yes, I know you do, mom!). I realized I had half a roll left on my regular camera and thought the Zoo would be a perfect place to finish it off, and then get them developed... I can't wait to see what other pictures are on that camera because I can't really remember the last time I used it!!!

Here are a few fun shots I took. Some of animals, but mostly of my kids in the natural beauty that is at the Greater Vancouver Zoo.... do you live in the area? Do you have a year pass? It is such a great idea to have a year pass because it is paid for in 2 1/2 visits to the zoo. What a deal! We got ours as a Christmas gift from Steve's parents, and what a great gift! It keeps on giving ALL YEAR LONG!!!!

With a year pass you get free parking (otherwise $4 a day) and free train rides every time you visit the zoo! (otherwise it's $5 per person!). There are other benefits as well, like a discount in the gift shop, and free entrance to a handful of other zoos....

First, some animals...

- the 3 month old giraffe baby... we haven't met him before.

- one of the hippos... Dawnelle, if you read this, which one is this?? The other one was flaked out in the mud and we only got butt shots of it, so I couldn't tell which one was bigger.

- a wild duck risking his life!

- the kids loved the hippo photo op by the Hippo Haven

- flamingos!

- I think Elise wants to move North...

Next, the kids having a great time at the Zoo!

- the boys are watching the lemurs play on top of their roof.

- my kids are such posers, Scott and Todd said, "take a picture of me!" at least 100 times today!! And of course, having 2 cameras on hand, I gladly took more than 200 pictures!!!

- Todd
- Elise found great freedom outside of the stroller!

I know there are lots of pics on this post, but just be thankful I didn't show you ALL 203 that we took today!!!!! Thank goodness for digital, eh?!

So... just a few more!

- me and Elise
- who's the leader?!

- I think this is frameable!

- taken by Todd
- Taken by Scotty!

The end! Now the kids are all napping, wiped out after walking for several hours!

Punchy combo!

One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! is how there are so many products that are made to fit together and coordinate on projects.

Check out this set "Totally Tabs," and the coordinating "Round Tab" punch.

set of 4 for $18.55, Round tab punch is only $19.48

Tip: Always turn your punches so the bottom faces you... that way you can always see exactly what you are punching out! Especially useful if you are trying to get a stamped image to fit within your punch!

New Faves...

Do you like watercolouring? Check out Anna Wight's blog... I love how she watercolours her images. She is an amazing artist, as well, and a photographer... I'm sure she'll become one of your faves, too!

Sassy and Sweet

Here's another one of my recent faves... I love being able to see something demonstrated, not just having to read the directions on my own. If you're like me, then you'll love the video feature on this next blog:

kwernerdesign

Then there's this blog that I go to once in awhile to see what Tamara has posted for new sketches. Sometimes you don't want to have to think about the design, you just want to get to the stamping... so this blog will come in handy for you!

New Post, Old Project

In December 2007, I made 2 calendars to give as gifts - one to my parents and the other one to Steve's parents. Since I have been so lame at stamping lately (I have club projects, but I can't show them until after my clubs meet next week), I thought I would share a few more pages from the calendars (I think I showed some back in January). I am thinking of getting a head start on calendars for this year! We'll see.... I seem to work better under pressure, so I doubt it will happen!!!

Click on the pictures if you want to see them bigger.....

Scallop Card

Not too sure about this one.... but since my stamping times these days have been few and far between, I thought I would show you what I did get a chance to make, even if it's not my favourite. Steve called it "old looking" meaning it probably would have been good to give to his grandmother!!!! The size of this is almost 6X6.

There is a rhinestone brad in the centre, and rubons all the way around the card. That part of it I like... it is just the big flower that I am questioning!
