Portraits Scrapbooked

Here is a pretty simple layout that I did with our portraits from April by Revival Arts Studio. I wanted a basic layout that would not take away from the photos in any way. Also, all the pictures are 4X6, so I didn't crop the pics at all.

It takes a Daddy.....

...to go walking with boys in the rain! Scott and Todd are out for a walk with Steve right now, and are most delighted that someone would finally take them out in the rain with these super cute umbrellas from Auntie Marit!

Pics from today...

I fed Elise some prunes, then walked to the sink to get a cloth, wet the cloth and turned around to see this... she was OUT! I had to wake her up to wash her face... too hard to clean off if you don't get prunes right away!! She couldn't wait 2 more minutes to fall asleep :)

THIS is what I am doing today... sorting orders!!! I caught the UPS guy on his way up our steps, so I got him to put it on my cedar chest (the boxes won't scratch, dad, don't worry!!!) so I didn't have to pick these heavy boxes up off the ground.

Ok, this is WAY more me...

I was just not satisfied with that last little quiz because it was so limited to just shades of green. So, for fun, here's one that is so much more me... I only did this once, so if you think I kept trying until I got my favourite colour, you're wrong. This was the answer, the first time I did it. No, I don't sit around doing this ALL day, as some of you might think... it only took 10 seconds to do this quiz and to get it onto my blog! Now I better get something stamped, so I have something productive to post soon :)

You Are a Red Crayon

Your world is colored with bright, vivid, wild colors.

You have a deep, complex personality - and you are always expressing something about yourself.

Bold and dominant, you are a natural leader. You have an energy that is intense... and sometimes overwhelming.

Your reaction to everything tends to be strong. You are the master of love-hate relationships.

Your color wheel opposite is green. Green people are way too mellow to understand what drives your energy.

Contest Reminder

Don't forget about my little Christmas card contest going on right now. Check out the details right here....

Just for fun.....

I wonder how they go about getting these descriptions, but anyway, I am apparently an original :)

You Are Teal Green

You are a one of a kind, original person. There's no one even close to being like you.
Expressive and creative, you have a knack for making the impossible possible.
While you are a bit offbeat, you don't scare people away with your quirks.
Your warm personality nicely counteracts and strange habits you may have.

Celebrate Life

Today we had an extra special Family Fun Night... it is the 19th anniversary of Steve's car accident that changed his life. For many years this date was always a sad and continual reminder of how his former life (sports, and life as a teen should know it) was over forever. Now, we celebrate his life. Pain-free since '97 and living life to the full everyday. I am so blessed to have him for my husband, and thank God that he spared Steve's life all those years ago, and has healed him.

Yesterday, Steve celebrated by going golfing with his brother and 3 of his cousins. Today we went for a Family hike at Othello Tunnels, along with Steve's brother and family. (BTW... I joined the celebrations 6 years ago when we had our engagement party on this day in 2001 :)

Scrapbooking Ideas

Do you ever sit at your stamping table, or wherever you create your pages, and wonder what to call your page? I do. If you have access to the internet, you have a valuable resource that is really an endless wealth of ideas. But where to start? Usually, I start with GOOGLE. Then I type in a search, like "Scrapbooking Ideas" or "Scrapbooking Layouts," or "Scrapbooking Title Ideas." You get the idea! And if I don't find what I am looking for within a couple minutes, I go back to the Google search page and refine my request.

Today, while looking for some scrapbooing inspiration online, I found a site that has a bunch of neat ideas. Check these out.... Source:Scrapjazz

TITLE IDEAS:
Use the name of a TV Show for a title
Use the name of a song for a title
Use the name of a book for a title
Use the word Love in the title
Use a computer-generated title
Use stickers for a title
Use a hand written title
Cut out the letters for a title
Use die-cut letters for a title
Use the title only to explain your pictures - no journaling
Use a pre-made title
Dangle something from a letter in the title using a wire, raffia, string, or something
Use Plaid paper for the title or for the background of the title
Mix template letters for the title
Weave a fiber behind title
Cut a title from a cursive font
Sew a title
put your title down the side of the page
Put title letters on individual tags
Dot the "I"s in your title with an embellishment
Use buttons for the Os or the centre of your Os in your title.
And of course... STAMP YOUR TITLE!!

Hope this helps you the next time you get a few minutes to sit down and scrap!!

Scrappin' Clubs this month

Here is the double layout that we did at my Scrappin' Clubs this month. The clubs were on Monday and Friday, and both clubs did the same pages. We used Always Artichoke for the background 12X12 pieces, and the Groovy Guava and River Rock for the other colours. The theme was "These Hands of mine" and the layout is one by Becky Higgins in Creating Keepsakes (Feb. 2005 issue).

Mt. Lehman Country Fair

Today we took a trip out to our old stompin' grounds for the Mt. Lehman Fall Fair. The kids had a riot in the bouncy house that had a really cool slide built in it. And we went on a hay ride, saw the local firetruck and firemen, and caught up with old neighbours. The day ended with a concert by Kenny Hess. The boys were charmers in their cowboy boots and hats, dancing around while Kenny sang. They even got asked to dance by the cutest little girl in a blue cowgirl hat, but Scotty got shy and turned her down... what a little heart breaker!

Steve's World

Just a little heads up.... I convinced Steve to start a blog! He came home today from the Langley Cruise-In and was pretty pumped about Corvettes, and met Ron Fellows, etc... All blog worthy stuff (for his blog!) So, here's the link. Check it out once in awhile and you will see what dh is up to. I don't think he'll be as regular a blogger as me, but nevertheless, he WILL Blog!

Pages for Steve's book

Here is another layout for Steve's scrapbook. I gave them to him for his birthday yesterday. They are of the Vancouver Auto show that he went to in April with his brother, Kevin. I used the "Creative Licence" Simply Scrappin' kit that is in the Level One choices.

6X6 page

Here's a 6x6 page that I showed at my last workshop. The picture is of my Morfar (my mom's dad) and Elise. They both had their b-days in July, one day apart. (I tried to book Elise's c-section on Morfar's birthday, but they could only book the surgery for a Wednesday, and his b-day was the Tuesday of that week).

Do you GEOCACHE?

Have you caught the latest bug? Geocaching... We got to try it out yesterday at our Family picnic. Steve's cousin Dawnelle is huge into Geocaching, and I can see why... it's fun, and good exercise too! From the online dictionary.... Geocaching is a treasure hunting game where you use a GPS to hide and seek containers with other participants in the activity. Geocaching.com is the listing ... http://www.geocaching.com/
I think that a GPS unit might just be on my Christmas wishlist! What a great way to get out and do something. Scott is a big fan already!!!

Uncle John took charge of the GPS and was on a mission. There was no stopping him!

Everyone got in on the search!

Uncle John and Steve investigating the cache.

Steve showed the kids what it was all about and Scotty is hooked! I could see us getting into this as a family. It happens worldwide, so we could even do it on holidays!!
