Some Inspiration...

My "mojo" hasn't been flowing as much as usual lately, and I blame it on Spring Break, the time change, and whatever else you can think of. So, for today, I just want to send you to 5 links of projects that I discovered this week that are (in my mind) just awesome!

Stampin' Pretty - Got Milk?

'Eh'mazing Stampers - Card Share

Marelle Taylor - The Bunny Jar

Patty's Stamping Spot - Simply Adorned

Julia Bettencourt - Tulip card

These are all projects that I want to put my hand to in the next week or so, maybe add my own touches, and then my own mojo will be back!

I have also been working on a Family album with MDS (My Digital Studio) over the last couple weeks, so I haven't been totally delinquent with my crafting!! I'll share some of those pages as I get them done.

Scandinavian Season

Last night I had my pre-buy class for "Scandinavian Season." Why did I pick this set? Well, first off, I love it! And secondly, it feels a bit like my heritage. My mom was born in Norway, and then immigrated to Canada with her family when she was young. I have never been to Norway, but it is high on my list of places to visit. I was supposed to go there with my mom in the Summer of 2001, then instead, I got sick and needed surgery. Bummer. Later that year I got married, and the opportunity fled as Steve and I went other places on vacation.

So, when I saw this set, all kinds of visions of rose malling came to mind. And the mitten looks just like the ones that my Mormor knitted throughout her whole life. I think the Scandinavian style is so beautiful, and this set really appealed to me.

The first thing I did was to raid my mom's rose malling collection for inspiration. And then I made up some cards, as well as checked out Splitcoaststampers for more ideas.

Some pieces...

Rub-ons

A few days ago I got my order of new goodies from Stampin' Up! In the box were new stamps, new paper, some accessories like the new striped grosgrain, etc... and I also had ordered some rub-ons. I love them! They are so easy to use and add so much to a project.

As I was taking a picture of this card, Steve walked in and said, "Oh, that looks great!" Well, he wasn't supposed to see it, but he did, so now he knows what his Valentine's card looks like! This is a photo from our wedding... taken by Imagemakers Photography. The card is 6X6 so I can just slip it into one of my 6X6 albums.

A Cased Card

A couple days ago on Stamper's Showcase (on the SU! demonstrator website where they show samples everyday of artwork done by Demos) I found a card that I really liked using the Three for You punch box... so, I cased it! (CASE = "Copy and Share Everything").

The card was made by Raedean Shibata, and here is the original card:

Here's my take on it... I ended up using different colours from hers because I was doing it in my head... I think hers stands out more with the darker blue.
